The highly anticipated movie, The Hunger Games, based on book with the same name by Suzanne Collins came out. Yay! I went to the premiere on Wednesday night, thanks to Jer Rei.
I read the books 2 years ago in 2010, I even pre-ordered the final book. *hipster. And I think, I have very low expectations for any film adaptions, sometimes I even think of them as another movie, loosely based on the book.
But this one is just very disappointing even with my low expectation. The cinematography made me dizzy -_- and reminded me of documentaries. And that’s not just it, I feel like they rushed through most scenes. Taking a little bit out of everything and put them together, a summary of sort. -_- Might as well just remove more scenes from the book and put more time and depth into others.
I thought people who didn’t read the book might not be able to get it, but apparently Alex did. He was just very confused why were some all dressed like Lady Gaga and some normal, and why do they have big LCD screen in poor areas. LOL.
But hats off for the casts, Jennifer Lawrence especially. She’s really good and convincing, the others are not bad too.
I hope the next movie would be better.
